Hey class.
I know everyone is feeling down and down after getting back all the results.
Right now, i just want to give a few words of advice and encouragement man.
Even though i am in no position to say anything becos my results are shitty too and sorts.
But i hope at least you would lend me a listening ear.
I am speaking in general and not targetted towards any individuals.
I am sorry for any anger or disappointment that might arise due to my message.
Firstly,
Practise DO Not make perfect.
Correction Do.
Practise only makes Permanent.
So if the studying methods of some of us are not working well, perhaps its time to really change the way we study. I think asking questions is very important. Especially when we need help we can always approach eugene, I am sure he wld be most willing to help, at least he never rejected my requests b4.
I think its wrong to label him as a chao mugger. Some of us might be wondering why we put in the same amount of work and yet eugene is able to score better than us. But the cruel fact is, if u have realised, eugene takes a day only to understand concepts in which others take a week to understand.
Simply speaking, besides his intelligence, he studies smart as well. Therefore people like us have no choice but to put in extra effort and start studying smart either.
I know he doesnt mug as hard as we think. Not that i am discrediting his work, but we all have to agree with me.
Otherwise whatever HARD work is futile becos its not being efficiently used.
Now do not take this as NOT STUDYING HARD. I think at this conjecture we all have to study doubly hard, if better 10 times harder.
Time is running fast away, even as i blog this post.
Secondly,
I am sure many are contemplating of just skipping the rest of the school term to just work hard for your A levels. I dont fault your way of thinking, if u think u can work better at home. But i am sure many of us did that before the prelims, with attendance so drastically low in some days. The fact is our prelim results didnt reflect that it works for us. As i have mentioned earlier, i believe strongly that there's a problem in our studying methods among the class.
The truth is, these few weeks indeed as mentioned by mr leong today ( for those whom attended school ) , can be VERY VERY productive, or just wasted. Becos the syllabus has been finished, we are actually very free to throw any questions at our teachers during every tutorial lesson and clear our doubts. Dont lie to yourself that the syllabus has been finished and therefore sch is just a waste of time.
Like what my mom always say to me when i try to pont school.
"Its your own problem if you want to skip school. Later the teachers say anything important and then u just lose out thats all."
Looking at our prelim results, i conclude that most of our independent learning at home, at own time own target doesnt work. Its time to wake up from this deluded self-belief.
Besides, we always are saying we have a great class. Its just 2 weeks before we finally depart with our wonderful classmates. Dont you want to spend more time together since many arent going prom already?
Thirdly,
Have faith in our teachers. We can see that they are all working hard towards our Alevels. No teacher is willing to see their own students score below an A for Alevels. But we must show our faith in them by frequently asking them questions and consultations. And right now for geog is just spamming essay outlines and more essay outlines.
Okay i think i am done with some reflections and watever unbiased opinions i hoped i have made.
Lastly.
It is ur Attitude towards Life that determines Life's Attitude towards you.
Work hard guys, and we will smile victoriously during february next year.
